WHY VECTOR FILES ARE NECESSARY
| Vector files are images that are comprised of outlines and not pixels. All lettering within the files must be converted to outlines also so as to avoid font confusion. Acceptable file types include: .ai, .cdr, .plt, and most .eps files.
The reason for this is that normal computer-generated artwork relies on pixels, or tiny squares, to form the shapes of letters and objects, which when enlarged for the flag or banner will produce jagged edges (called pixelating). By outlining the letters, the jagged edges are eliminated and only the shape of the letter or design remains. The example below shows how an ordinary logo can pixelate when enlarged and how vector art stays crisp and clean. Vector files are best for all designs!
